As I was walking through Sephora this morning I noticed they had all their holiday collections and gift sets out already. My friend pointed out a couple she wanted and I made a mental note. This got me thinking about how I always spend WAY too much money Christmas shopping and how I really can’t afford to do that this year. While in the mall I started to make a list in my head of who I would be shopping for this year and what I wanted to get them. So very quickly I figured out almost everything my loved ones will be getting this year.
Now at home, I grabbed my notebook and a pen and started writing this list down. Under everybody’s name is a short list of gifts, the estimated cost, and I’ve come up with a total around $300. I’m honestly surprised because over the past few years I have spent way more than that, usually over $1,000 LOL. I just love getting things I know people will love.
However, this year I am sticking to this list. I am only buying what I have written down today. A major problem I have are these impulse buys of little things I think someone would like and before I know it, I’ve spend way more than anticipated. I know the things I’ve got written down today are great gift ideas, and I do not need to add to it.
If feels so good to have this done! I don’t think I’ll be feeling any of that holiday stress this year!
Thanks for reading! Let me know if you’ve thought at all about Christmas shopping yet!
